Looking for Beekeeping Information

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Sorry, Melissa! I don't know what category to list this under!

My mother-in-law is interested in raising bees both for pollination and for honey. She asked me to post here and see if anyone could recommend some good informational websites or some good books on the subject. I'll be doing some searches for her myself, but I would really appreciate any recommendations or info you good people could toss my way. I know nothing about bees, except that they scare the poo out of me! Sure do like that honey though. :-)

Cheryl, Maybe go to the Countryside Forum, go to the archives and look under bees.

Try your local library and check around for bee keepers in your area. They are usually pretty generous with their time when it comes to helping new people get started. That is the way we learned.
