Things on my old mind. [some preachin]

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Well--seems that this old hillbilly will survive. After that little trip Lil Dumplin and I took---it most wore me to a frazzle. Still spent most of the day nappin, snoozin and even sleepin -in bed! Lil Dumplin is out and about on her job while I stay around the homestead and be the "keeper of the cat" type job. Ole Calvin ain't too hard to take care of tho. Just make sure "it" has lots of cat grub, water and a warm place to snooze.

While on our trip we noticed a sign for the town of "Gibson" located S.W. of New Orleans. We just couldn't pass it up without havin a "look see". Turned out to be a very small place but full of nice folks, I'll bet. Lots' of water around and in the town and probably bunches of gators too.

I would like to publically thank Melissa and Doreen for lettin me post my "stuff" on their forums. Christianity is not well received in a lot of places now-a-days it seems. Jesus Christ is shunned by many "enlightened" folks and considered to be outdated and obsolete. Whenever I can present Him to the world--I'm most happy to do so. He is the reason I'm alive and SAVED!

More later as I kinda get the cobwebs cleared from my old brain. Old hoot. Matt.24:44

Welcome home, Hoot-n-holler! - or is it Hollerin' Hoot?

Once Chuck takes over you will be welcome back at Countryside too! We all miss you there - heck you even have your own catagory under the archives!

I would love to see Hoot posting at Countryside again, as an attempt to reach out to people, BUT (you all knew that was coming!!) Ken was really just reacting to all of the people who didn't want religion there, and to tell you the truth most of them are still there and will cause another big outcry. I don't see that changing the moderator is going to change the minds of many of those people. When the first religious post goes up, I think there will be the same amount of controversy there was before. I wish it weren't so, but just from reading the last few days, I think that is what will happen. I hope I am wrong and people can get along...

Hello Hoot,

Even though I am not a Christian, I DO enjoy your post and am certainly glad that there are Christians on Melissa's and Doreen's forums. I personally believe that if there were no Christians in the world.....there would be no world! They are the ones that help keep the rest of us calm.

Sincerely,

Ernest
