Website Up Now - Sort of :8)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Style Homesteading : One Thread

Well folks, I've managed to get a little done on the web site today after running around like a chicken with my head cut off! Started out by taking my mom to a doctor's appointment that we thought would last the better part of the morning. We were only there about a half hour surprisingly, so we had time to go to one of our favorite auctions in Garnett, KS. Since we were getting much needed rain there wasn't much going on at the auction, so we attended to other chores, picked up 5 dozen Rhode Island Red settin' eggs to go into the incubator and my wife and I did a little shopping. After I did my evening chores outside I came in and started working on the website and managed to get a little done. I know what you're probably thinking ... "Just shut up and give us the URL to the website already," so here it is:

http://cstylehomestead.tripod.com/home.htm

There's not much there, but I'm hoping to change that very quickly! Anyone who drops by and wants to contribute some information, a good receipe, a story, pictures or ANYTHING homestead related, drop me an email. If you would like to share pictures but don't have a scanner or digital camera, we can help there. If you want to send us your pictures and a self-addressed stamped envelope (if you want your pics back - send enough postage and I'll send a disk with the scanned pics on it, too) we'll scan them and put them on the website. Maybe you could write a little something about yourself and the pictures you send and it would all go on the website together. The website, just like this forum, is here for YOU! Oh! I almost forgot to mention that I will have a spot on the webpage for participants to Buy/Sell/Trade/Barter their goods! Lots of goodies coming in the future that my way-too-tired-braincell can think to mention right now. Best way to find out what's happening is to visit, visit, visit! Look forward to hearing from lots of you great folks!

G'nite!

Hey Phil - THANK YOU for starting another forum - I hope it turns out great for all of us! I visitied your web site & it looks like it'll be great too! One suggestions, if I may ;) - When you put an outside link on your page (ie to the forum) it might be good to make it come up in a new window - that way people won't lose your web site (not everyone understands the philosophy of the BACK button ;) Well, you can take my comment with a grain of salt, because you might have already thought of doing that & decided not to - ANYWAY.......Blessings for your new adventure! ;) THANKS

Thanks for the "thumbs-up" and encouragement folks! Come on by anytime and look around! I'll be posting things here and working on the website in all my spare few seconds a day :8) to try to keep it interesting and informative!

Phil, thanks for the website. Thought I'd let you know I am having some trouble reading the text - it is kinda overcome by that green background.

Phil, the green with black copy is comfortable to my eyes. Would this have something to do with each computer's interpretation of color? I like the colors a lot. I hope it doesn't have to change.
