During his early youth, Alexander's tutor, Aristotle, taught him to classify everything. He spent large amounts of time writing down the various charactersitics of everything he saw, on 3x5 index cards, and sorting these cards into piles.

For example, at age 8, he invented the classification: Two-Legged Things That Make Farting Noises. This category included himself, Aristotle and all of his family and friends. He later abandoned this category, when he discovered that it placed him on an equal footing with his servants.
