Seaboard Painting

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

About 1988 I bought the book Seaboard Motive Power by Warren Calloway and in the book was a yellow or pink sheet that allowed me to buy the painting on the cover. I put off sending the sheet in and eventually lost the sheet. My question is, is the painting still available? I have an enclosed garage that is my train room and besides a large HO layout i have several pictures, Robert West, 8X10 S.A.L. & A.C.L. etc. and would love to add this to my collection-Warren any help?

Bill,

The painting has been long sold-out...and very highly sought after. Supposedly, most were destroyed during a flood/fire at Trainmaster of Montgomery...which was the agent. Mr Karsten passed away some years ago. The original is owned by Paul Withers (I think)...

If you still are interested, I have one that is framed and triple matted (Seaboard Citrus colors) in a nice frame that looks like RR Ties. It is big and would be rather difficult to ship, but could be done. I am in St. Petersburg, FL.

If you want prints for your wall...I am clearing out my collection and have about 25 different, mostly SAL, ACL and FEC art prints (rolled in tubes) for sale... No more space on my walls.....

If interested you can call me at (727) 866-0093,

Ted
