marriage possible?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

The man I want to marry, who was raised Lutheran, was married to a Catholic in a Lutheran church. Later she divorced him, re-married, and after many years is now widowed. I am Catholic, the man would be willing to become Catholic. Would it be possible for us to marry or is he considered by the church still married? Thank you.

Without a decree of nullity, he is still married in the eyes of the Catholic Church. I would begin your approach to marriage by visiting your parish priest, so as to start that process. Keep in mind, that not all who seek an anullment are actually granted one. My prayers and best wishes go with you. Good luck!
