I have a early 80's model Bolen lawn tractor.I am looking for any information such as dealers,parts,etc.I believe Bolens was bought by Troybuilt and according to recent postings Troybuilt went bankrupt.Any info would be appreciated.

John, when I needed parts for my Bohlen tractor, I went to www.tractortalk.com. I had tried several local dealers plus a couple of internet sites and the prices were outrageous on the parts that could be obtained. I got in touch with a gentleman from that forum who got me all the parts I needed at a very good price. If you'd like his e-mail address; please email me. I was recently looking for some parts for my riding mower and stumbled across The Used Mower Network, which is a 35 page listing of Dealers (not too many) and individuals with "For Sale" and "Wanted" listings related to used lawn mowers and small tractors. I think I recall seeing some Bolen items listed there. Thought maybe you and others on Countryside might find the site useful and perhaps save some money too. I've got a '84 16HX1 Bolens with the Hydrostatic drive..great tractor compared to the sheet metal junk you see now...do a google search on Bolens for lots of resources; also occasional parts on E-Bay auctions..I thought of trying to buy a spare whole tractor for parts; but the only one I found, the guy knew what he had....a rusty hulk, sitting in a swamp, and he wanted $150 bucks...I passed, obviously. Grandville Ford Tractor sales in Grand Rapids, MI, has common parts like belts and such for the mower deck(had them rebuild mine); ph # is 616-532-2347. Good luck!
