Finger Injury

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Everything About Teaching and Learning the Piano : One Thread

I`m wondering if this injury I have will limit my ability to play the piano. Currently I`m learning how to play the piano I haven`t got into anything advanced yet.

but anyway when I was 12 I accidently cut my pinky finger on my right hand. As a result I`m unable to move the top joint of the finger. I can move the finger itself ok but I can`t bend the top part of it. So is this something that will limit me in my ability to play?

Jared,

Hard to tell over the internet, but there's a good chance it won't be a big problem. The best thing to do is to work with a good teacher to make sure that you don't develop bad habits that will make life difficult down the road. You say that you are learning to play the piano: what does your teacher say about your finger?
