Recipe for Goat Kid Colostrum replacer?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Neighbor just stopped by and wondered if we had any goat colostrum, but our goats are due to freshen in April. His doe doesn't have any milk -- just kidded awhile ago.

We both recall a recipe for a replacement, perhaps with egg yolk??

Anyone have a recipe for this?

Heres the one we use from Raising Goats the Modern Way. 3 cups goats milk 1 beaten egg 1 tsp. cod liver oil 1 Tablespoon sugar The best way to warm this is by putting it in a canning jar and putting the jar in a pan of very hot water. It really scorches too easily to do it directly on the stove. Blessings Peggy
