Price level for AF lenses for Canon EOS 500

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Photography Singapore : One Thread

Hi! I plan to buy an universal lens (28-200 mm) for my Canon EOS 500 camera. I am now doing some research on the price level. Can anybody help with experiences of makes (Canon, Tamron, Cosina, Vivitar etc.)? and price level in Singapore for these products?

Thank you.

Hi, I bought a new Tamron 28-200mm around July/August last year for Nikon mount for $500-$600.

Good luck!

Hi, I believe that you should make trips down to the penisular plaza area and check out the different prices. It is important for you to make a few different trips as different salesperson will quote you different prices. Make sure that you can get yourself a good bargain before buying.

On the subject of which brand to buy, it's is best that you buy the same lens make as your camera brand, which in this case Canon. This will ensure top compatibility with your camera. 3rd party lens should not be compared with 1st party lens, as the quality difference is too great.

Hope this helps, good luck.
