No place to do crafting - how to you do it?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread

I have a really small house and no place to do my crafting. I have to use the kitchen table then clean it all up for meals. I can't seem to accomplish much when I have to haul it out, the put it all away, then haul it all out again, then put it all away AGAIN! I usually end up starting a project and never finishing it because it is just such a pain. I would love some ideas.

I live in a mobile home! I work on the kitchen table and have to put everything away each night too! With one exception, when I have a craft show coming up in a few days, so stuff stays on the table to get my last minute things done. Have a VERY understanding hubby and kids. Is a pain in my butt, but one has to do, what one has to do! Maybe someone else will have a better answer for you.

Can you find others who have the same problem? If yes, just pitch in and rent a storage place that allows the activities and schedual your time so you do not get in each others way.

Years ago, when we lived in a small house with very little room I would use a folding table to work on my projects and then a huge under-the-bed type container that I could quickly slide under the sofa and hide the table in the closet if company came. Is this an options for you? Jenn I forgot the mention, I bought the folding legs for my table on clearance for $5.00 and attacted them to a 2 feet by 4 feet piece of plywood that I painted and covered with a plastic sheeting to protect the projects I was working on.
