Old cookstove needs new firebrick...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Have an old wood cook stove and it has not firebrick. The ones that were boxed up, do not fit right and there is not enough of them. Where can I get firebrick for cook stoves and is there anything else I can use instead of firebrick? We will be burning wood not coal.

Thanks for all your help!!!

Most large buidling supply stores (Fleet Farm, Home Despot, Cashway, etc) should carry firebrick. If you have none of these near you, try your local fireplace dealer. If all else fails, you can order over the web. Here is one site that everyone who burns wood should take a look at (they sell firebrick): Rutland Products --Happy trails, CF

You could buy some ply-cast and make your own. Happy Future, Jim
