greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hi Everyone.. Just to let you know about our piglet (9 wks old} and our 3 mnth old lamb.. They are the best of buddies... They sleep in a horse stall together and follow each other around constantly. The people around us crack up laughing because they can't believe it.. We first had them seperated and the lamb would not shut up... So we let her out and she went right over to the pig.. They walk around our farm with the 4 farm dogs.. It's toooooo funny.. When we feed at night we give each one there own feed pail and they eat and eat.. Well I won't bore you anymore but just thought I'd share that with you... Have a farmoulos day... JAMES

That's too cute! I wish I could see it! Our 2 1/2 week old pygmy goat kid likes our horse. I know that's not that unusual, but when you see the two together, the kid standing between the horse's front feet looking out at the world, it's adoreable!

Sounds like they've been watching that movie "Babe"! How wonderful!

So cute! We have an orphan lamb, about 4 weeks old. She lives with the Nubians, drinks her bottle from a human (me), and gets bathed and loved on by the Retriever. When she is in the field with all of us, it is the retreiver she follows. This is one messed up lamb for sure! In His Grace, Sissy

Well,do be careful keeping them together as the pig gets bigger. Pigs can be carnivorous and could attack the lamb out of the blue over food issues or something similar. I hate to put a damper on the current happy relationship, but just wanted to bring it to your attention. Sheep are social creatures as well as pigs, so maybe you might want to think of getting the lamb another lamb or goat buddy and also maybe another piglet for him. Just my opinion.
