The short answer is no, but refer to earlier discussions on the topic for details.

NO.

No, but I have found its auto setting to be very precise. Even when I was using Nikon I sometimes used it on auto instead of TTL when shooting chrome because it's easier to adjust exposures via the aperture without having to take the camera off-face and fiddle with buttons while you're missing the moments.

DEFINITELY NOT IN TTL! Like an idiot, I tried it before reading posts in here and it zapped the batteries in my M6TTL. It may have even damaged the TTL circuitry, but I can't verify this until I get my hands on an SF20 or a Metz with the proper adapter. I've been told that this is unlikely, but there's always the risk. Just learn from my mistake and do not try it!

Several people have tried it and, as reported above, it does not work. It does not damage the camera or flash though they both get very unhappy. One chap sent his TTL back to Leica and everything tested out just fine.

Okay,I'll take the answers as a big NO. Thanks for the help. I'll stick with the Leica flash.

Chris, you don't have to stick to the Leica SF20 flash, although it's a nice little unit (but expensive). As Luke mentioned, Metz flashes with SCA 3502 adapter will also work with the M6 TTL. They can do everything the SF20 can do, with additional features such as more power, tilt & swivel head for bounce flash and zooming head to concentrate the flash beam for longer lenses.
