Me, Chili Grand-Master

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

I cooked some chili today, and I must say it was great. "What is the secret of your chili?" is a question I'm sure I'll be asked many times in the future. I probably won't answer, because outstanding cooks, such as myself, prefer to keep our little mysteries. But I will tell you, its "Hard Times Chili Cincinnati Spice Mix." I happen to be fond of Cincinnati style chili. I think it's the cinnamon that makes the big difference.

I dated a Greek once and he taught me how to cook pork chops with a bit of cinnamon. Goes in curries, too, of course.

M-m-m--m-m sounds good!

It was Greek restaurant owners in Cincinnati who developed that chili style.

Peter,

They've recently added a Skyline Chili restaurant to the Cincinnati airport, which is wonderful for those who have the stomachs to tolerate it.

Unfortunately, a lot of passengers stuck there on layover, can't, and the restrooms can get rather smelly.

Here's something you many not know: a lot of women start spraying perfume around in smelly ladies rooms, which compounds the problem! Worse, I was washing my hands in there at one point (en route to SLC), and this woman accidently sprayed me with some Blue Light Special mixture. BLAH! BLAH BLAH! I smelled that stuff most of the way to SLC before my nose finally gave up.

I see this thread has turned to bodily functions, finally. If you think about it, any thread that starts out about chili ends up this way...

I immediately dislike anyone who wears that Giorgio crap. Sorry if anyone out there wears it, but it gives me a headache. By the way, those sorts of strong perfumes are "99% fixed" by musk from the civet cat, which is extracted painfully from cruelly caged cats, usually in Asia. Buy only "cruelty-free" perfumes!!!
