Today, March 4, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- saints whose souls are now in heaven:

St. Casimir (Polish, prince of Poland and grand duke of Lithuania, dedicated life to chastity and prayer, died at age 25 in 1484)
St. Adrian (British, missionary bishop, martyred by pagan Danes c. 875)
St. Basinus (French, Benedictine abbot, bishop)
St. Gaius (from Asia Minor [Turkish], military officer, martyred by drowning c. 254)
St. Humbert III of Savoy (French, count, widower, Cistercian monk, d. 1189)
St. Leonard of Avranches (French, bishop, c. 614)
Pope St. Lucius I (Roman, elected pope in 233, reigned until death in 254)
Bl. Placide Viel [baptized Eulalie Victoire Jacqueline] (French, farmer's daughter, member of Sisters of the Christian Schools, Mother General for 30 years from age 31, d. 1877 [beatified 1951)
Bl. Romeo of Limoges (Italian, Carmelite brother in France, d. 1310)

If you have anything to share about these holy people, please reply now -- biographical episodes, prayers through their intercession, the fact that one is your patron saint -- whatever moves you. If you are interested in one of these saints and want to find out more about him/her, please ask. Information is sometimes available on the Internet.

All you holy men and women, saints of God, pray for us.
God bless you.
John
