Why black rabbits from two Californians?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have a californian buck, white, pink eyes, black tips to ears and toes. Bred to identically marked doe. Result; two blacks, one spotted white and black, 5 whites.

Do Californians sometimes do this, or do I have a mixed rabbit?

Jimmy, You do not have full blooded Californians!! Something else is in the woodpile! I raise Californians and they breed true, if purebred. Denise

Either your rabbits are not full blood, or you need to have a serious talk with that doe.
