Jake the muld, sammy the pig and ole Jeeps birthday. [Preachin]

I mosey'd on over to ole Jeeps house this afternoon. Today is his'n birthday and I figger'd I'd go aggrevate'm a mite. He wasn't even home! I was gonna ask ya'll to give'm a phone call and wish'm a good day--however--he disconnected his phone about 3 months ago--the hillbilly way. The hillbilly way ya'll ask? He uncermonisely [yeah it's spelled wrong] "unplugged" it and promptly threw it out in the yard!! Said last week that he "ain't missed it a bit" and "shoulda done it years before"!

Noticed while I was there that old Jake the mule, was up and about and BUSY. Seems that Sammy, the pig, got out of his pen and was followin ole Jake around like a little puppy dog. Jake don't like that hog! He'd run after'm, lower his big old haid and try to butt Sammy. Sammy would squeal, run a few steps and the entire ordeal would start all over again. When I left the hog was still out and old Jake was still chasin'm around in the pasture. Never a dull moment over at that place!

Drove past a neighbor on the way over. He was dressed in his Carhart bibs and hold'n a chainsaw--a runnin. He was fix'n to carve a bear from a section of tree trunk. He does that to make a little extra cash. Usually he dresses like an old frontier man with all his leathers and the little "hangy down" things on'm. It was too cold for that garb today tho. He's the same guy who thinks he can talk to the birds, animals and even trees! Every year that he's been predictin the comin winter, talked to the crows about it--he's been wrong! I don't know who he's been talkin to but apparently they/it don't know what's up either! I wonder if he's been readin the local paper? They have about the same track record!!

Drove past an old homestead on the way down to Jeeps--just up the road about a mile or two from the "weatherman". A young couple bought it about 2 months ago. What was a beautiful homestead was totally destroyed by the bulldozers. ALL the big shade trees were destroyed along with a little orchard, old barn and water well. Fencerows were also pushed out and piled up to be burned. Illinois, in this location anyhow, looks more like the plains of Kansas each year. I don't like it but rekon it's called "progress". Suppose I'm and old fuddy duddy but I've lived in those old days when yu could drink outta creeks and not get sick, eat fresh cut greens from the roadditches, persimmons, wild herbs, gather'n wild fruit and other edibles without any concern for pollution. Quence trees grew throughtout the countryside that'd been set out a century before by countrysiders. I won't even eat blackberrys anymore. Farm chemicals, hogfactory runoff along with illegal dumpin of trash, refuse and offals from poached deer makes nothing safe anymore. We are drowin'n in a sea of sewerage, illegal dumps and farm chemical run off. I'm wonderin what our planet will be like in 50 years from now----if Jesus Christ tarries! I still love the country but it can stand some improvement in it's care.

We will be held accountable for our actions in this life, when we meet the Master. I'm afeered a bunch of "red faces" will be observed on the great judgment day. He's coming soon folks. old hoot. I Peter 2:24
