I remember around 30 or so mulipule pilot flights before Linberg, And no I was not there, I am not that old.

The correct answer is of course Capt John Alcock, his companion was Lt Arthur W. Brown. In 1919 they flew a WW1 Rolls Royce bomber to Ireland. I have read that Lt Brown never got into another aircraft in his life!
