It won't be that easy. You can find the original concept in Rotter's monograph, Generalized expectancies for internal versus external control of reinforcement,Rotter, Julian B. [Washington] American Psychological Association,1966 28 pp

Beyond that, locus of control is a very common independent variable, and a search in PsycInfo turns up hundreds of articles. You'll have to search patiently, see if you can find a good literature review. I'd start with some of the classic social psychology tests--see how they summarize the concept as well as the research results. I'd start with Roger Brown's Social Psychology (2nd ed., 1986) and also would check indexes for the Psychological Bulletin and the Annual Review of Psychology.

On the web, you'll find a copy of Rotter's test at http://www.dushkin.com/connectext/psy/ch11/survey11.mhtml and at many other sites. Just type locus control on Google and you'll find many sites that include the test as well as some explanations written primarily for lay people.

There are two reviews of the literature by Lefcourt:

1966 Internal vs external review of reinforcement: a review. Psychological Bulletin, 65, 206-220.

1992 Durability and impact of the locus of control construct. Psychological Bulletin, 112, 411-414.

Lefcourt reviews the various measures in Robinson, Shaver & Wrightsman's Measures of Personality and social psychological attitudes, 1991.

hey my name's zubaida and i am doing a research on the same. that is locus of control ..but my focus is work locus of control and if there is any significant difference between men and women where WLOC is concerned .....
