What kind of roosters do we have?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Today we were blessed to receive 2 pekin ducks, 5 silkie hens, 2 roosters and food, shavings and food dishes for nothing. What a great day since I was thinking about getting some more hens, but didn't have it in the budget this month.

The roosters are black with teal coloured tail feathers. Their heads are fuzzy like the silkies but are feathers instead of fuzz. I looked up pics of silkies on the net but they don't look like the pics of male silkies. Perhaps someone can help me? Thanks so much in advance.

I vote for variety of Polish..are the rest of the birds feathers "normal"? The rooster only has a top knot? Most likely Polish!

Buk, what a wonderful website. I'm ready to see if I can invite myself to live on his farm. It was lovely. But then I guess hubby might have something to say about that. LOL It has such nice pictures for people like me who know next to nothing about chickens and hope to learn a lot more. Thanks for sharing it.
