I have been a fan of your web site for a long time. Thank you for giving me so much pleasure and entertaining instruction.

Have you come across the PAE controversy? If not you might have fun looking at what became a hot topic in Le Monde -- those French are so intellectual -- and the UK and Australasia, but doesn't seem to have drawn much attention in the US. Perhaps because we had the debate after Klamer-Colander and the AEA blue ribbon panel report on the state of the Ph.D. economics.

Some of the hanger's on are exploiting the controversy to attack economics and bolster their own agendas, but it is easy to sort the wheat from the chaff.
