United's recent injury jinx has struck again, with Jamie McClen now facing a four-week lay-off as a result of a torn calf muscle. The 22-year-old Geordie has played an important role in Bobby Robson's first-team squad in the last two months after making his return in the FA Cup victory at Peterborough in January. Many assumed the midfielder's run in the side would end following the capture of Jermaine Jenas from Nottingham Forest, but McClen has continued to produce the goods for Robson's team - turning in a superb performance in the draw with Arsenal last week. United have been hit by a string of unfortunate injuries in recent weeks, with Kieron Dyer, Gary Speed and Craig Bellamy all missing important matches.
