Visceral Dysfunction Pain Referral Patterns

greenspun.com : LUSENET : AMTNSW : One Thread

I'm currently searching for information regarding pain referral patterns of dysfunctional organs. I'm not referring to dermatome distribution; I'm searching for literature on typical pain referral patterns associated with diseased or dysfunctional organs.

Looking forward to your reply

Hello Matt - I have never seen a stand alone book about pain referral patterns of dysfunctional organs but have seen lots of diagrams in pathology books dealing with individual organs.

For a written record you might consider the two volumes of Visceral Manipulation by Jean-Pierre Barral and Pierre Mercier. These volumes form one of the most respected bodywork sources for visceral "massage" and manipulation.

There is also an interesting table of altered connective tissue zones resulting from disturbed organs and functions in Modern Neuromuscular Techniques by Leon Chaitow Page 70.

If all else fails let me know which organ you are particularly interested in and I will see what I come across in my travels
