Check out the bio at www.eapoe.org or any decent biography. The sleeping with Virginia's body(bones) under the bed was not Poe, but it was someone else due to a lot of difficulty about lasting memorials. All those cheap legends in fact usually involved someone else like Griswold, his chief post mortem enemy responsible for most of the slanders and at least one of the idiosyncrasies(HE had broken into his own deceased wife's crypt and was caught asleep beside her in the morning.)
