Has anyone heard if the unempoyment extension bill was passed?

The neighbor that I am gardening with on the buddy system asked me what I had heard about the proposed extension. He still is having no luck with employment in the field he is trained and his time is almost up. I thought someone here might have heard something recent.

I heard something about it also on the news. If I remember right the President did extend it due to everything that has happened the last few months.

I understand it's up to the States if you are qualified. If the unemployment rate is at a certain figure in your State, then you MIGHT get extended. Please tell me if I am wrong. Otherwise, it's over the hill and to the poor house for me in mid April. Age descrimination still exists! Try getting a job when you have hit a certain age and are used to making a salary reflecting your years of experience. Not happening here! I'm downsizing to the woods in May thank you very much. Wish me luck and a good back. LOL.

A friend of my sister received a notice from our Indiana Unemployment Office to come in because the unemployment benefits had been extended. His unemployment benefits had run out in December! Also, he was not directly affected by 9-11.
