The oldest is the 1861 US Patent office agriculture report. It may not be that rare This was the forerunner to the Department of agriculture reports that were printed by the goverment up till the 1990's. Abraham Lincoln created the dept of Agriculture while he was president. I have been collectiing what is now called Agriculture year books for years and now have most of them. They are interesting and have some still valuable infromation in them. We have used them several times when we just could not find a modern answer.

Hubby & I have a large library--- & we have many old vet books gardening books---history books-that also relate to homesteading--- that would be a hard choice---I think some of my 1800's vet books are my favorites as they have been passed down in the family & I'm the 4th or 5th generation to own them--I will pass them to my daughter who will pass them on to her sons---if we aren't "raptured" first-
