Quote of the day:

"If I didn't panic, you wouldn't be able to put out your paper. I saved this friggin' paper. I kept the lights on in this state. Do you understand that? I kept the lights on."

-Gov. Gray Davis to a bewildered editorial board of the San Diego Union. He then called for a round of applause - for himself.

John Ashcroft reacts to being asked please not to sing in public anymore

Today's Ka-Ching Thing: Byron York at National Review Online actually sat down and read the Robert Ray report on the Clinton pardons. His piece has some astonishing information in it about Roger Clinton and payments that go way beyond funny money. Frankly, its the most un-funny money one can imagine.

Follow These Instructions to the Letter: Place coffee cup at a safe distance. Place hand over mouth. Slowly read Hillary's remarks during a committee meeting yesterday. In so many words, she says her mother has the hots for Senator Byrd. (Quickly blot out mental picture) which proves that what was said about her was right. She would even use her own mother to get her way.

Who's Duck Test Is It Anyway? The "final" Whitewater report uses phrases like "lack of cooperation" by the White House and "novel privilege claims." It says statements by the Clintons were "factually inaccurate." It "calls into question sworn testimony in 1994 and 1995 by Hillary Clinton." Three witnesses saw Hillary with "rolled up billing records" long after they were subpoenaed. It questions Hillary's "feigned forgetfulness." The Washington Post headline says the "Final Probe Clears Clintons." The Associated Press has the advantage of actually having read the report before they wrote their headline. Their headline is a touch more accurate. Dems will spend a day or two Carvillizing this report. Nothing will change the truth, however, and they are stuck with the Clintons until the end of time.

You Can't Go Home Again: It looks like we are have a tar-baby problem with the Gitmo Gang that is ripening nicely under the tropical sun. They are getting fatter by the day. Now we get word that their own countries don't want them back . We have long advocated giving every liberal whose heart breaks for the ANWR caribou one of their own. Now we can offer a caretaker. Any Ldotter suggestions on how we can off load this crew will be happily entertained.

LDotter Note: We had so much E mail yesterday concerning our Lisa Beamer remarks we haven't been able to answer it all. We can tell you that only three e-mails out of over 100 did not agree with us. Not to put too fine a point on it, here is a list of jewelry for sale to benefit the Todd Beamer Foudation. The proceeds apparently will be added to the 30 BILLION dollars already donated to the victims: "Let's Roll" Sterling Lapel Pin , "Let's Roll" 14K Gold Lapel Pin , "Let's Roll" Sterling Charm , "Let's Roll" 14K Gold Charm , "Let's Roll" Sterling Pendant, "Let's Roll" 14K Gold Pendant.
