Guinea hens

greenspun.com : LUSENET : barter board : One Thread

I have 7 guinea hens (2 pearl 3 years old / 5 pale blue 1 year old - am not sure how many are hens) that I am in the process of rounding up and need to relocate. I don't really want to get rid of them, but they got into the neighbor's bird feeders and I want to keep the peace and don't really have an extra pen to keep them in long term.

So...would be willing to sell or trade for rabbits or other items - old books on agriculture, farming, etc.

I hear that Guinea Hens are great for tick control. Is this true? How difficult are they to raise. Is it true that once they understand where they live, they don't run off? What sort of maintenance do they need (food, shelter, water, training etc.) Thanks. J
