Around here lately-Thursday Morning

Well another busy week is flying by... Where does the time go I wonder? I have been busy with taxes, taxes, taxes! I am gettin sick of them, and I have 3 sets to do taoday or tomorrow. I want to get them done before the weekend. Monday I had to take Brady to the doctor, and I also got a prescription for myself. He had a sore throat and I had a sinus infection. so I have not had a lot of energy this week so far. I am feeling much better today though. Tuesday I worked on spring cleaning Brady's room. Moved everything out, clenaed and washed all of his bedclothes and curtains and put everything back. So that is one kid's room done. The girls have started their rooms and will finish them today. They want new curtains made, so I will be busy sewing them this afternooon. I don't mind the sewing, the hardest part is cutting everything out straight.

Today is a beautiful day here in SE Ohio. It is sunny and clear. I am going to hang all of my laundry out today. I have some washed and ready to go, so I had better get busy. My Mom bought a new washer, as her old one bounced all over the room. so she gave it to me, and here on our concrete floors it works perfectly. It is huge inside, almost holds two loads to one of mine. so this makes it a lot quicker. I might fill my wringer today and do all of the kids bedclothes. It is still pretty cold, but maybe it will warm up enough not to be too miserable!

Mostly, it seems we've been fighting frustration! The chicks came during an ice storm, so they're still in the dining room; needing continual cleaning, feeding, watering, etc. They're going to the woodhouse next week, temporarily to a water tank with a heat lamp. That will help.

My inside plants need moved out to a hotbed but it's too muddy to get it set up and I can't get to the neighbor's horse manure to put in it until we move a tree that fell down up there (and cut it up to burn in the stove!), and he cleans up the crib that blew down in the storm. Everything seems to depend on something else, which depends on something else.............!

Our grandkids always expect a treasure hunt at Easter, so I'd set up all of that (48 rhyming clues) last night when the electricity blinked and the computer went down momentarily. I'll learn to save every paragraph one of these days! Now, I'm doing all of that again. Grrrrrr.

We butchered; sides and hams are curing and the sausage came out of the smokehouse yesterday. Yummmy.

Spring cleaning needs to wait at our house until we can have the windows open and the stove out. I'd planned on using grand daughters this week to help me (spring break) but the week's nearly over and we've mostly just fought ice. I did want the cleaning done before our daughter and husband came to celebrate 3 birthdays weekend after Easter. Won't be done. As my husband says, "In the light of eternity, what difference does it make?"

The sun is shining. The flowers are actually still looking as if they'll bloom after the ice leaves. The Lord is in His heavens and all's right with the world.

Y'all have a good day.

Absolutely beautiful day!! Hanging laundry this morning, working on computer so this afternoon we can go outside. I'll let the kids play in the sunshine while I start cleaning out the shed for the yard sale in 2 weeks! I also have to bake an Elmo birthday cake so I can decorate it tomorrow morning. I brought in my garden bag and need to dust and get it ready to go. I have 4 sets of curtians at the machine ready to go and bought some really cute material yesterday in Joplin on clearance for the 8 kitchen windows and curtian for under the bar!! Lots to do but so beautiful I know I wont get everything done!! God Bless

I'm still working on that goofy crystal party I had last Friday. She only left me two books, and I had about 7 people that wanted to look at them. There are a few who just won't get to, because I have too much other stuff to do than run around delivering catalogs! I have to run down into the city today to pick up a refrigerator part, and Lance is off scalping a yard, so I'll have to go by and check on him while I'm out.

So far I've delivered the kids to respective schools (Nick's Easter party was today, he was VERY excited to go), stopped by my mother's to pick up the ham for Sunday and drop off eggs for my uncle (she and my sister are going to visit Daddy's grave today and put some Easter lillies in the vases on his headstone), done two loads of laundry and loaded the dishwasher, straightened up the kitchen and made a couple of phone calls. Now I'm off to pick Mitchell up from kindergarten.]

Have a wonderful day! By the way, not to make anyone jealous, but it's supposed to be about 73* here today. Heaven!

Today has been pretty busy here at work. I have been putting together my resume and job application as I am going for a higher position. When I get home I am going to be busy cleaning out cabinets ready to do my once a month grocery shopping tomorrow. Tomorrow is a state holiday and I don't have to work but the kids still get to go to child care. So I will be busy cleaning bedrooms and living room. The kids were jumping on a bed and the wood broke on the frame so I am going to tackle the process of putting it back together. Then I am going to do some clothes washing by hand. Saturday the kids have an Easter Egg hunt at school and Sunday we will go to sunrise service and church. Then I will be cooking and baking for the big dinner.
