Dyer think Sven was impressed?

Below also posted on the ezboard bbs:

Good match report by George Caulkin in today's Times, whereas The Guardian's Michael Walker appears to have two chips on his shoulders about us...beating Everton 6-2 proves absolutely nothing etc etc.

Extract from George's piece:

For Newcastle, and for Dyer in particular, it was another red-letter day. “We’re back in contention,” Robson said, “whatever contention means.” So, too, is his impish midfield player, who emerged from the ruins of a disrupted season to inspire his team-mates. Two months injured with a stress fracture of his left foot and he performs like this. “He’s a match-winner,” his manager said. “He keeps on running when everybody else’s tongues are hanging out.”

Eriksson would have enjoyed it. While Dyer’s best position is the one he filled at St James’ Park, in the centre of the pitch, dictating proceedings, augmenting the strikers, he would be far more than a square peg on England’s problematic left wing. He has yet to make an appearance under his country’s head coach but met up with the first-team squad this week. “I told Sven that medically Kieron couldn’t play twice in a week,” Robson said, “although he will for us. I pay him more.”

The latest "alternative" bbs was set up by jonno, from - I believe - an original idea by ciara. It's at:

http://pub84.ezboard.com/bnewcastleunitedbbs

You need to register with ezboard if you want to post. The logon for the actutal nufc bbs itself is the same as the one we use to get in here. General impressions from people yesterday were:

1) It worked. But long-term reliability not tested. 2) Annoying pop-up ads - but you can download a program to zap 'em. 3) Took some getting used to but, once in and posting, it was fine. 4) If Greenspun continues to die at regular intervals, we need to have a debate about what to do. I still, personally, prefer this board but it's no bliddy use if it's not available.

And, for those who haven't also got it in their faves, the reason we knew to migrate to ezboard was via that trusty old lifeboat (except it sinks when set limit of posts reached) at:

Torygraph - Henry Winter bless 'im - also gives a nice report.

(PS Benton - your HTML tags seem to have turned to weird accented 'A's at my end.)

Just read the Telegraph piece. Nice one. As Sir Bobby commented: "This was a great Easter present for our supporters." Henry Winter heralds spring!

Sorry about the accented A's - they appear in the text of the "Original question" as viewed while currently posting this response (where " and ' were originally typed) but the text appears as normal when back in the actual thread. Is anyone else having a problem?
