PA - Correcting credit report is worth the hasslegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Y2K discussion group : One Thread |
Thursday, March 28, 2002Q: I have been trying to correct a billing problem with Kaufmann's for two years. I bought and paid for a mattress with a 10-year warranty in 1998. The mattress was replaced by Kaufmann's because of a defect on April 9, 2000. The difference in price between the first and second mattress was $42, which I paid. The problem is, Kaufmann's kept billing me for the other $682.66. I cleared the problem with Kaufmann's, but the problem still shows up on my credit report. Kaufmann's wrote me a letter telling me they would correct the error with the credit bureaus in April of last year. I just checked and it is still on my credit report. I am in the process of buying a home and can't have this black mark on my credit report. What can I do?
