I need to compar "The Pit and the Pendulum" to the movie that was adapted from it. If anyone can, Help Please!

??? Is this for a paper? I think the romantic interest ruined the entire movie from the start plus the movie, as so many adaptations, even good ones, of horror tales, misses the story effect and the meaning both. The movie adaptation of "The Turn of the Screw" for example resolves too much of the ambiguity and psychology of the governess. So we have to settle for the visual scary stuff and rough plot. Most pulp Poe movies have even less respect for the original tale or Poe's artistry and have probably done more than any other rendition to create the public image of Poe as kind of a shallow Lovecraft, mad, drug ridden and weird. I think there are better Poe movies than the entertaining Roger Corman films. Hope you are talking of a better version?
