Will quality drop outputting 3CCD video in low-end DV?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Shooting DV Films : One Thread

Hi all,

I have two DVs, Im using a Canon XM-1 to shoot, I wonder if I output the video in my old JVC low-end DV (Via iEEE1394 to PC) the quality of the video and audio remains the same?

Thanks!

Yes. It's digital to digital. The quality will be the same. And the compression is exactly the same on all DV formats (MiniDV, DVC Pro, DVCam). The only thing that affects the quality is the camera you use to shoot your footage.
