Elevator hoist drains

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

I applied for a job today. I had to answer a few questions. One of the questions had to do with elevators. I had no idea how to answer because I never heard of such a thing. Maybe someone could help me out.

The question: Where is the elevator hoist well drains located and why ?

If someone could answer this for me I would appreciate it.

sump pumps in pit

kenny, i would think they were talking about sumps located in the elevator pit. i have several of these due to low water tables. usually they are located at the left rear corner as you look into the unit this im sure being the lowest point of the pit.

They may be talking about the low drain on the machine to drain the old oil out every year, good way to fine out is to look at a machine and see if ther is a dran near the botton of the gear case,if so then draining the old gear case is done every year
