wow.. been seeing this but not sure what to do.. she acts fine, eats, frolics but in morning after waking up has yellowish eye goop in the corner of her eyes and they seem a little watery, i use a warm wash rag to clean them and they are fine after that.. the sneezing is not that frequent.. could it be a cold? if so what do i use to treat? also i noticed in giving her kisses on her head that she does not have the horn buds that my little buck of the same age does.. how common in pygmy's is it to have a hornless defect.. saves me getting her debudded though..i have been keeping the babies in the garage in a refrig. box with lots of straw.. it is chilly in the garage but not freezing..how tolerable of cool temp.s are baby pygmy;s? thanks in advance. oh i do believe i am taking them to vet in a couple days.. at least to have my male disbudded.

We have a pygmy that we have been bottle feeding since she was 2 days old. I don't think she started budding untill about a month old. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the sneezing yet - especially if it's only once in a while. I might add a little boric acid to the warm water to clean her eyes out. Also I still use a heat lamp on my baby outside, the nights are still a little nippy.

i have an answer about the hornless situation. if the breed you have is supposed to have horns than it is a defect. i have been researching show guidelines and they say that if they are supposed to have horns and don't then the goat can be disqualified, but if you aren't showing them then i think that it isn't a problem not to have horns.
