911 for Goats--just a memory of Joel's

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Dairygoats : One Thread

I was just remembering how this forum started way back when and what a wonderful idea it was ! Some of you that know me also know that my knowledge of goats is zilch, nada, and less than nothing. But Vicki, Bernice, Rebekah and now Doreen, eat, sleep, and dream goats !

I just thought I'd like to congradulate you folks and especially Vicki for starting this forum. I liked the idea then and I love it now. Who knows, maybe someday I might get me a goat and me and him will fight up one side of the mountain and down the other. I know one day my wife will win and I'll have to build that fence. LOL

I think you all do a wonderful job of supporting one another and it makes my heart glad to see it and I just thought I would say so ! And if anyone has a picture of Vicki with 6 goats in her Lincoln Navigator ? well I just have to see that ----just send it to me C.O.D. Have a Great Day !!!!

Best get started on that fence then, Joel! Yes, this is a great bunch of people here, and I am very thankful to have this place.

Thanks so much joel for the kind words. I really really like this forum, its not political and everyone is considerate and helpful, even funny. We laugh and cry together. Your words mean a lot to me right now. yep, and get yerself a goat, your life will never be the same.

For those of you who don't remember, over on Countryside, Joel is referring to a thread about our dream vehicles. Mine was and probably still is a Lincoln Navigator, the 6 goats inside is Joel's idea :)

Whose forum this is, who started it, is still a secret, but it is not mine. It is a wonderful idea and when you get Becky her goats, Joel, you invite her over here to the forum and we will steer her in the right direction.

When you do get goats, you come and see me, I have a guest house for you to stay in, Becky could get her goats, and we could talk into the wee hours of the morning! Perhaps if we try hard enough we could find some common ground on just one issue :) What you want to bet that Joel, like my John is married to a liberal, liberated, strong opinonated woman!!! Vicki

I remember the Navigator now, that was so long ago it seems, like in another life. I recall posting to that and saying my dream vehicle would be a Porsche with sun roof open and me and my Sweet Dreams buck, magellan would cruise down the interstate in Hollywood after we visited "Momma Kristi" there. I also said on AlpineTalk once that when i get my first homebred GCH i was going to rent a limo and ride with the doe in it.

Alas, times ahve changed and now my dream vehcile is a full size Dodge ram 4X4 king cab, midnight blue with gold hubcaps and trim and the yellow sun in gold on the tailgate. I also would love to buy a tour bus and go on the road showing.

I saw the perfect tour bus for sale just yesterday. It has a wood stove and everything ! Just one problem though--it is painted camo. I think I have enough old jump suits to dress the goats in--just so they would be color coordinated !

Churchill had his cigar, MacArthur had his swizzle stick, and Patton had ivory pistols and a dog. Joel had a goat in camo ? lol

My dream vehicle is still my 74 3/4 ton Dodge--yep, I keep dreaming it will last my whole life !

Ya'll have fun now--and take care of one another. Vicki, we really aren't so far apart, you and I. It's just that one state couldn't contain all our ideals !

Oh Joel, TOO funny! I enjoyed that one, camo tour bus with your goats dressed in high fashion, camo, LOL:):) Gosh, since Vicki is probably a days drive I'd love to meet ya both, I'll bring the goodies! how 'bout some good ole' AR armadillio stew? LOL:):)

-- Bernice (geminigoats@yahoo.com), April 07, 2002.

Bernice!

Back when I was young there was no such thing a as an Armadillo north of the Red River, they're expanding their range! How about goat stew!!!!

We'll have that bus, but it'll have a logo on the side "Joe Hogenmiller All Breed Dog Hander". Thing is, you can never tell if there are goats inside or AKC show dogs! Motorhome didn't work, took too much gas. Need a "Snap on Tool" van, complete with generator and airconditioner. And a diesel engine.

Bernice, you get'em down here and we'll all have a pizza social and have a fine time! But let's have it at your place. We've got indoor plumbing in the "cozy cabin" but the only hot water is in the dairy barn.

Come on down! Sit a spell. Take your shoes off. . . . .

Uh, dream vehicle? I have two. A Mercedes 450 SL with an Alpine staring out the window at the passers by, and a 1976 AMC Pacer Stationwagon body on a monster truck chassis. And whipping butt in competition. Did you know you can put a Frigidire Skinny Mini washer and dryer in the back of a Pacer wagon close the back door and not even have to put the passenger seat up? Rack and pinion steering and a fully synchronized three speed manual? (Bernice, did you make it home with that new automatic the other night? Now mount that on top of a HUGE chassis and you have the ultimate humiliation machine, lol.

Germany, eat your heart out!
