Were there any railroad tracks in Atlanta, Gorgia around the year of 1970 that were located near Spalding drive which is near Dunwoody?

The only railroad near Spalding Drive in 1970, and now, is the Norfolk Southern (previously Southern Railway) line that on its way north passes by Lenox Mall and goes through downtown Chamblee, Norcross, and Duluth. The east end of Spalding Drive is near this line. Until recent MARTA construction, there had been no railroad of any type on the other end of Spalding Drive (near Georgia 400) for many decades.

The Roswell Railroad once ran from Chamblee to the Chattahoochee River near the Roswell Road bridge. Some of the old roadbed can still be seen along Roberts Drive and Dunwoody Place. The track was intended to cross the river, but never made it that far. The intended roadbed on the Roswell side of the river is still visible just to the east of Roswell Road just north of the highway bridge. I don't have my references handy, but I think the Roswell Railroad was gone shortly after the depression - tracks and all. Very little roadbed (and no rails) would have been visible by 1970.

The people at a Chamblee area hobby shop, "Gandy Dancers" maybe, once told someone had made a map and written a short document about the Roswell Railroad. I could never get hold of a copy.

Has anyone on the list seen such this document?
