Bush Beans in Greenhouse?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
My small greenhouse is used mostly for seed starting. I've had success with growing pickling cucumbers on a trellis.Just seeded some bush beans in large deep planter and in a five gallon pot -- both in greenhouse. Has anyone done this?
What are your favorite greenhouse plants??

Haven't grown beans in a greenhouse but I don't know why it wouldn't work if you keep a good airflow. Otherwise they'll rot.I have, however, grown peas, lettuces, and carrots together in a big pot in a greenhouse. Also used to grow lettuce & spinach together in pots in the south facing window well of my cellar during the winters my family spent "up north".

I grew tomatoes all winter in my hot house, and they did real well. Took a little paint brush and played bee, and just touched each bloom with the brush. and I had fresh tomatoes all winter. The little cherry tomatoes really out did them selves.

Hi everyone... am posing a question for you all... I am thinking of doing one of those "greenhouses" using a swingset... and am thinking of positioning it on a long ago abandoned blacktop basketball court... so my question is- Do you think there will be any problems with the floor of the greenhouse being blacktop? I will probably only be using it to start my seeds as none of the windows in my house have the right exposure. I am in northeastern New York state... up near the Vermont border so I need to get a jump on the planting season with much of what I have planned for this years garden.
