I THINK IF YOU READ THE BOOK WRITTEN BY THE ROMAN HISTORIAN ARRIAN YOU WILL HAVE ALL THE INFO YOU NEED HE IS A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE BUT I ALSO MUST ADD ARRIAN DOSE NOT PUT IN ALEXANDER BAD DEEDS AND ONLY LOOKS AT ALEXANDER IN A ONE SIDED MANNER AND TRAYS TO JUSTIFY HIS BAD DEEDS . THE BOOK IS CALLED THE CAMPAIGNS OF ALEXANDER BY ARRIAN

What makes you think that an heroic leader cannot also be a cruel tyrant?

It sounds to me like your assignment, if it requires examples that prove his heroism, is not-so-subtly telling you what you are supposed to think about Alexander. That isn't teaching. It is dictation.

Alexander was a king. He was perhaps a bit less of a cruel tyrant than other kings of his time. "Less cruel" does not mean "kindly". "Less tyrannical" is not the same as "egalitarian". He was a foreign invader. He killed people and took what he wanted. It was the common practise of the time, but hardly anything you'd choose to have happen to you if you could avoid it.
