Quote of the day:
Carville: "There goes pretty boy."
Carlson: "James coming on to me over here."
Then again:
Carville: "Oh, pretty boy, you are a pretty boy."
Carlson: "Thank you, James. That's like the fifth time."
"The Newshour" it is not.

-Eric Boehlert quoting dialogue from the "New" Crossfire at Salon.com (Premium)

Once...........twice.............three times a lady.

Mo-Mo Want A Trip Back to Uganda? That tag line is from an ad where a lab monkey goes berserk when its trainer suggests it might want to go home and fits Maureen Dowd's completely loopy column today about men not wanting successful women. To prove her point she writes that only the bonobo monkeys are truly happy with aggressive females. We don't know about the monkeys but this debate is ancient and should get over itself. Men don't want self-absorbed, neurotic whiners who think only about their careers. Give it a rest, Maureen , the eggs are long gone.

Bonobo Woman? The indictment yesterday of blind cleric Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman's............ah.......less than stately female lawyer has added yet another strange and thoroughly dislikable character to our future news. A source familiar with the substance of the testimony in the Grand Jury that indicted Lynn Stewart says her crimes are more serious than anything Taliban Johnny got up to. Stewart was also Pee Wee Herman's lawyer during his masturbation trial. When it comes to choosing clients, you gotta hand it to her.

Nothing Left to Read: Oprah's dismissal of the world of literature with one Olympian flick still rankles. Here Jeannette Walls at MSNBC.com examines the real reason our Great Improver is dropping her enormously successful Book Club. Billionaires who live in the world of total "yes" don't like to be dissed and novelist Jonathan Franzen hurt her feelings by refusing to play her book games. She might have picked up any one of the One Hundred Great Books series to keep things going. A shot of Aristotle, Dickens or Faulkner wouldn't hurt anyone. But, she would have to read them first.

Brock Couldn't Write It Better: Read this description of James Carvil le and Paul Begala: "Mr. Carville is a tall, rangy Marine veteran, sports fanatic and jock; Mr. Begala is a born-and-bred Texan who grew up with guns and still likes to hunt." This is Joe Conason describing his idols in his Observer column today. This is so embarrassing that we will leave it up to Ldotters to comment further. Have at it, gang. Red meat time.

Four Cheers For The WSJ: We may be on the right but we do like change and those in the new, colorful Wall Street Journal are terrific. The thrice weekly Personal Journal section is absolutely delicious . Better than anything the NYTimes is attempting and full of real stuff you can use in real life right down to a tiny column about the relative uselessness of "computer glasses." The paper that hasn't changed in decades is now user friendly and we like it.... a lot.

They Say He Bites: We point you to this item only to illustrate how blurred the lines are becoming. Greta Van Susteren will take heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne as a date to the May White House Correspondents' Dinner. This is hype, of course, because both their spouses will tag along but it will make for fun pictures and lot of deliciously nasty comments here on the site.

Whew! that Lynn Stewart, UGH!

Loved the comment on that thread, She looks like Shrek in a dress. And 'She's what I call a double burqua date.'

LOL

btw, I heard that along with her there were some others nabbed, including a NY postal employee...

Yes, that Stewart person is not what one might refer to as a "babe." I'm not much impressed by what a person looks like, but she's one of those older women whose sour and nasty life is beginning to show on her face. She makes the Sheik look like a hunk by comparison.

Bet he's glad he's blind when she's around.
