The now defunct magazine "The Kitchen Gardener" (sniff) had a GREAT article about growing figs. I can't wait to try to grow some, too!

What a guy!!!! Phil, thanks so much for the links, they will help tremendously. I know nothing about fig trees. I think Dave is always trying to challenge me by wanting to grow not so common plants. (He can stop anytime, though)! Thanks again, this is the best forum with the nicest people!

Good luck with your figs! My DW and I even talked about giving it a try ... figs are YUMMY!

And you're welcome, Annie! Glad the info will help ... equally happy that you like the forum here! Me too :8)!

G'nite all!

We had fig trees in Central Texas, and in that area, they needed very little care, other than chasing off the squirrels and chickens occassionally! I one time watched a squirrel make a number of trips to the fig tree before I realized it was gathering all my still small, green figs! lol
