Whew. I just got back from a nice and very productive trip up to my folks place. It was neat becausae I got to enjoy the first flush of spring twice, and to visit with some family. We did fencing, garage building, rabbit hutch building, garden prepping, and plumbing!! Along with lots of visiting:). I learned how to put up trusses and that was pretty interesting.

Of course there is now quite a bit to take care of here. The grass is growing at the speed of sound! I still need to see if any of my baby plants survived my abscence. One of my does has a problem with her udder, and my broody hen disappeared with her babies, otherwise all is right! The wildflowers are amazing, and I just LOVE this time of year.

I for one am glad to see you back ! I guess I got worried until they told me it was a planned disappearence. I'm not so much in the loop with the "crew" being scattered in four or more forums these days.

Summer has come to Virginia. Someone forgot to tell God that we enjoyed spring. We went from 40 degrees straight to 90 degrees.

My brody hen, aka "yes dear", has purchased 12 new fuzzy balls and commandeered my bathroom as a nest. The odor is killing me but what do I know ? When it comes to mother hen and chicks ---we mere roosters must forfiet our opinions ! You may now start to realize why I don't have goats.

Anyway I'm glad to see you back. I spent the week reading the entire archives of the new offshoot forums. I now feel that I have caught up ! I really think you needed that time and I'm so glad you took it !!!!!

Spring is still a stop and go thing here. I have some melon starts in the ground but still have a plum and a pear tree that need planting. Our warm sunny days drop to mid 30s for the nights. This alternates with the 55-60 degrees and raining weeks.
