Baby who ingested meth leaves hospital

An 11-month-old boy who became sick last week after ingesting methamphetamine has been released from the hospital, Spokane police said.

The baby was handed over to a relative Monday afternoon, police spokesman Dick Cottam said.

The baby was admitted to a medical center Thursday morning after his mother became concerned about his health.

Urine tests showed the boy had "a considerable amount of meth" in his system, Cottam said.

An investigation is ongoing.

Heard a case on the scanner night before last--5-year old boy insulin- dependent diabetic, left with a babysitter overnight, no insulin. About 24 hours later, mother still hadn't turned up, nobody knew her whereabouts and child starting to get quite ill. If "they" paid as much attention to licensing parents as they do to licensing gunowners. . .
