Cruelty to the Most Innocent Of All

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Hi All:

I ran across this beautiful and tragic song -- thought I would share it!

He cries for the little ones, for the little ones He cries He mourns for the little ones, whose lives pass us by

Through the hands of violence and absence of love Their cries have been silenced by the shedding of their blood

It's an ungodly harvest by doctors of death Whose hearts have been blinded by Satan's evil quest

Little lambs to the slaughter on the altar of ease No words can they offer -- not 'Please Mother Please!'

We pray for the little ones -- for the little ones we pray We pray for the little ones, never seeing the light of day

We cry to the Lord -- How long will you wait! For vengence is His and He will repay

For the lives of the innocent He will vindicate For justice and mercy is His middle name

America, the Beautiful -- God shed His grace on thee Your hands are red with the unborn dead while Satan shouts with Glee

* * *

Into His bosom they fly, little angels that light up the sky Tiny wings never learning to fly -- Twinkling stars, your lights still shine!

Oh God, maker of heaven and earth, save us from our destruction!

Beautiful and tragic describe it well. Funny how we can feel the same things at th same time.

Gail

Thanks -I love it. And we will always pray for the unborn. For the mothers, Remember Christ's own words: "Father, forgive them for what they do not know."

I think this will do. WE should pray for those who were led astray by the selfishness of others.

That's easy Mateo, by leaving it up to the parents, one of natures most affective protection, you see, they will be abuse regardless if they are laws, CPS, education, religion, I don't care what you put into the systom, it will just be cover up or look the differents way. But people ain't that smart, they fail to notice the history and culture of Age of Consent or that emotional abuse is a way of life. Trying to prevent such illmoral things from happening such as drugs, abortion, sex whatever will do nothing but more harm then good.

Where do I get my statistics? I read a lot, Mateo. Check out Fr. Andrew Greeley's site, check out Bill O'Reilly, a very good Catholic by the way, Check with Jason Berry, devout Catholic Journalist who wrote a book about sexual molestation, interviewed hundreds of priests, do some research, Mateo - open your eyes to the truth. No, you don't want to - fight for the unborn, but treat the victims of abuse like they are 'enemies' of the church. Catholic people are doing nothing to support these people and they are just being shoved aside as if they caused all the problems and that is exactly why they did not report it years ago because they were treated exactly the way you very good and devout catholics are treating them now - like they don't exist and just 'go away' and shut up we have heard enough of this already. Well, this is just the beginning, Mateo - just the beginning - because there is going to be a big protest in Washington, just like you have for abortion. There is going to be division in the Catholic Church - just ask Our Lady, the Lord's Mother - she warned us about the 'evil that will come from within the church' and it is happening now to our precious church. Don't get mad at me, and don't get mad at the media, and don't get mad at the victims, get mad at those who didn't give a damn that it was happening - they are the ones who brought shame onto our church - the men with the red caps!

Lenny,

You write a bunch of stuff including:

"get mad at those who didn't give a damn that it was happening...the men with the red caps!"

Lenny, you are a funny guy. You've got your scary boogie man--the Catholic Cardinals. If that works for you, well what can I say?

You've made a lot of judgments as if you know what I think. You don't.

I don't know how this post got shifted to this thread...I can't even find my original post, though I remember what I said. You stated that 200,000 children have been abused by 50,000 priests. That means that 4 children are abused by each priest on average. By the way, the US government is where I got the 50,000 figure. Their real figure is 45,000, but I rounded up.

I have made a statement based on what neutral social scientists believe--Catholic priests' rates of sexual abuse is not known to be different (it may be lower) than the general population. Based on these numbers, let's assume 75,000,000 men (ignore women) in the US, the numbers are simple:

75,000,000 * 4 = 300,000,000 abuse victims by non-priest men.

Even if the priests were shown to be ten times as likely to abuse children (a totally outlandish assumption), the numbers are:

75,000,000 * 0.4 = 30,000,000 abuse victims by non-priest men.

If you were concerned about child abuse, you should not restrict your search to 50,000 men. There are another 75,000,000 potential abusers in the US!

The fact that you are subject to the whims of whatever the newspapers publish does not make your "priorities" correct. As an example, the news during the 90s covered the economy, Monica Lewinski, and Bosnia, just as it ignored the genocide in Africa! Ahhhh! These journalists cannot be trusted to set priorities for effectively bringing morality to the world. They have a bias, and if you have ever been in another country, your experiences would open your eyes a bit.

You have tried to convince me with statements including:

"open your eyes to the truth. No, you don't want to

Well, this is just the beginning, Mateo - just the beginning

There is going to be division in the Catholic Church - just ask Our Lady, the Lord's Mother - she warned us about the 'evil that will come from within the church' and it is happening now to our precious church. Don't get mad at me, and don't get mad at the media, and don't get mad at the victims,"

With all of your "statistics" and "research," why act dramatic? Just give me the facts, and spare me the drama regarding whom I should be mad at. I'll choose how to use my emotions by myself--I don't need someone's advice.

Now, if you claim to be so well read that you can enlighten all of us, please feel free to refer us to the web pages that contain the statistics that you cite. I'm not afraid to see statistics. I look forward to seeing the article where they claim that 200,000 people were abused by priests.

That's just my $0.02,

Mateo

Lenny, you must be looney.
I had to read just 25 words of your post before realizing that it would be a worthless one.
You know nothing if you actually think that Bill O'Reilly is "a very good Catholic." He rejects some of the Church's teachings, and does it in a blatant, public way, thereby misleading millions of people around the world. It is arguable that he has done more "cosmic damage" than have some of the priests involved in recent scandals. Their sins are relatively confined, but O'Reilly has messed with the minds of millions already.
