seems that some people think you and I are the same Bob,, weird crap going on on the other forums

I check it everyday, too. Put on an occasional question.

The 'new' sites seem too commercial...miss the 'homey' feel of sites like these, where one doesn't need a password and ID to get into the site...I still go to them, but its different, for sure...

I like Lusenet much better than the new place. Is easier to use, most everything works properly, and NO LOGIN problems. My compuer tends to go offline frequently and a peristent cookie is wonderful for me.

I hate the thread shuffle at the new site.

I like the ease of this, and I don't like the shuffling. But I have been on the new site. But miss this set up....

I've checked out the new site, but prefer the Lusenet sites. My computer doesn't stay 'up' for long periods and even just reading the posts on the new site locks up my computer. For some reason the Lusenet site stays up for longer periods of time, could it be due to no graphics? Seems that quite a few are either staying or coming back to these sites so maybe I'm not the only one who has problems with the site. Besides, I'm not easily offended and like the group that's here;good people who love the simpler lifestyle.

I like LUSENET much better as well. The other site takes a long time to load, and sometimes when you click on one of the forum names it says there's no forum attached.

I also do not like that on the new site they only allow a limited number of postings per thread, which they didn't do here. Even with an old original question, over time things change, and maybe over 6 months or a year's perspective you can come up with new solutions--you cannot do that on the new forums.

The password stuff is also, alas, a big turnoff. While I do not think any less of Chuck, Melissa (who's really borne the brunt of the original problems), Doreen, et al, I'd rather stay with the true "public" forums--you get a wider variety of information that way.
