More Poems for 25th anniversary?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Melissa, don't forget, I'd still like to have any poetry from you for my parents 25th anniversary booklet. And thank you to Randal for the lovely one he posted. I'm going to use that for sure.

Some people talk and talk,

and never say a thing.

Some people look at you,

and birds begin to sing.

Some people laugh and laugh,

and yet you want to cry.

Some people touch your hand

and music fill the sky...

(This poem I love because I think it is amazing how that one special person can truly make all the difference...)

Teach me Father when I pray,

not to ask for more.

But rather let me give my thanks,

For what is at my door.

For food and drink and gentle rain,

For sunny skies above.

For home and friends, for peace and joy,

But MOST of all for love...

This is kind of a "cute" one, not as serious...

If life's a bowl of cherries, without you I'm the pits.

If life's a jigsaw puzzle, without you I don't fit.

If life's just a song, without you I don't rhyme.

If life is for eternity, without you there's no time...
