HI all

I am new to this. We are just beginning to homestead on our small property ( 1.35 acres), we have a barn, we have a house LOL. We have two daughters, 13 and 22 months, and two sons, 11 and 8. We have three chickens and a rooster, a dog, two cats, one or two feral cats, and 6 rabbits. I am planning to homeschool my eldest son next year, he is having a lot of trouble in school, he is adhd, but has learned to cope so well, and yet the public school is holding him back and the kids can be so cruel. Anyway, I am happy to be here and look forward to sharing information with you! Janice

Welcome Janice, I am one of the older ones. In age that is. We will look forward to your slant on things. Are you haveing a drought in your neck of the woods? I see on TV that it is getting pretty bad somewhere up there.

Hi and Welcome, I just love the people on this forum and hope you do too. I'm in Central Washington and I love to hear about where other people live.

Welcome, Janice!!! We are in Alberta, Canada. My youngest son is ADHD and we homeschool, too.

The people on this forum are great -- many "elders" who are full of wonderful help when you need it, and many "youngers" to keep asking the questions you might be hesitant to ask yourself -- or never thought to ask!!!

I find here a real sense of community as it used to be -- those who have experience guiding those who do not -- and it's also the ultimate support group!!!!

Welcome to the neighborhood Janice.

Ann, her brother, and I Homeschooled my son as a junior in high school, in 1996. He was deadweight in the classroom, and I didn't want him taking up the teachers resources. He went back as a senior, but failed, alas. He later got a G.E.D.

Hi there! I'm in NE Alabama..not one of the "elders" because I'm only 54..must be someone else they are referring to! LOL..welcome!

-- lesley (martchas@bellsouth.net), April 27, 2002.

Whew! I'm 47 and was hoping I wasn't in the "Elder" bunch either! But if Lesley's 54 and she's not, then I guess I'm safe. Alas, I'm afraid I'm not in the "younger" group either. :(

-- Lenette (kigervixen@nospam.com), April 27, 2002.

Relax, folks! I meant "elders" as in "wiser" -- not "older"!!!!
