Workin around the homestead and [preachin]

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Well, I looked outside this mornin and was kinda relieved to see it rainin. I worked hard yesterday movin concrete blocks and build'n a dam across the waterway north of the house. It flows through the grove of maple trees and had started to gully out under those trees where the grass no longer grows. I still ain't done movin blocks yet but have made a goodly dent on'm. Oh btw, I moved those blocks without ANY trouble with my heart! Glory to God! When He heals it's total!! Another benefit from my healing on Jan 12, 02--the breastbone grew back together! No more "pulled" wires and no more bloody scar!

Started mowin out in the field --expandin my already huge yard. The topsoil is startin to erode and I sure didn't want it to gully out there. Besides all that--very llittle crops are grown on that slope, the grain buyers are thieves too.

Noticed while mowin in the front yard all the damage the deer have done to my trees and shrubs. Those ornery critters had better enjoy the summertime truce. Next fall the truce will be recinded--I'm fix'n to like deer meat again!

Went and had a looksee at ole jeeps new chikins last evenin. Boy, I'm really wantin to get me some now more than ever. I love raisin chickens--for the meat and eggs. I imagine ole calvin mite get jealous but that's ok--"it" can eat chicken feed too!

Folks, the Gospel is unchanging, Christ is undefeated and satan is a liar. The Gospel, according to man, changes whenever it suits mans' lifestyle. Those folks may think it's a good one to live by but in all reality a very poor one to die by. Jesus said "I am the Way the Truth and the Life! No one comes to the Father but by Me". old hoot. Matt.24:44

Brother Hoot you just might make a profit on them chickens too! I went to a swap meet today and nearly fainted at what them folks was askin for chickens.....$8 a chicken! With no guarantee they were layers. A chicken would have to lay an aweful lot of eggs of very little feed to be economical at that price. Shoot they are startin to ask good money for some scrawny ol roosters too. Praise the Lord your heart is better....I'm so glad to hear you are gettin around better.

Glad you are feeling better Hoot, and are able to get some work done around the place...

Hoot, what I would give to have those rocks down here. Been trying to put a phoney creek under a bridge in my front yard, and we have to buy the rocks. At 12 cents a pound. There is not one rock in this neck of the woods, great for gardens and such. And what I would give to have some of your cool weather.
