Time bombed

Why is this called freeware when it is time bombed? If you roll your PC clock forward a year, the software does not work and says you must download an update. But if the author is winding down the development what use is it??

OCDB will always be made available. The program time is limited because support on old version is very time consuming. If I stop enhancing OCDB, or if development will be very slow, the time limit will obviously be removed. As I have received more than one complaint about the time limit, I'm thinking about removing the limitation anyway. OCDB is called freeware because it is free. It is no less free because it doesn't last forever.

Hi Tony.

Let me quote the web page: "Version 3.1.12, released on 5 May 2002: The patch is released to remove the time limit of the program."

The time limit has already been removed. I hope you can rest assured that you cataloging time isn't wasted.

I am afraid something will happen to you and you won't be able to make the change on the timer and then me and others who have invested a lot of time in the indexes will at some point lose our hard work due to the timer. Do you have a plan for someone else to turn off the switch on the timer in case something happens to you?

I have just downloaded version 3.1.2 and it has a time limit that won't allow me to run it.
